Charming thought, but not historically correct.

Paris (or Parrys) Street was previously called Shytebrook Street as it crossed this stream, basically an open sewer outside the city walls, roughly where the Pyramids swimming baths are now sited. Before that it was Pareis Street, meaning an enclosure. I recommend the Exeter Memories website as an easy source of information for those interested in these matters.

(the boundary of the parish was along Longbrook Street and Southernhay.)
:-OIt was something I read in the E&E a few years back and written by I think Hazel Harvey? Bottom bit of Paris St forms boundary then up around to the City wall by the East Gate.

What about this?

I like it. Would it look better if the word Siege was the same font as the 1904 in the logo?

The subject of parish boundaries and their changes is far too complicated to go into in detail here, and I'm not really an expert on this specialised area of history. There were about 18 small parishes inside the walled city! I believe that originally St Davids went round the city walls as far as Southernhay Gardens, including the land between the walls and the boundary of St. Sidwells and St. Leonards. Heavitree boundrary crossed Paris Street the other side of the workhouse (Heavitree Hospital).

But Paris Street was never the parish boundary.

All a bit arcane for Exeweb!

No, keep the "Siege Army" thing - "Ultras" is clearly piggybacking on others who have done it first and conjures up unwanted images of Accrington's rather "special" support.
That sort of mentality needs to go if an ultra group is to prosper at city. Accrington's Ultras are one of the best lower league ultra groups in the UK. In fact, apart from Palace, no one else in England comes close. They've done great considering the size of their support and club. The Green Brigade lead the way in Britain, and they can attribute that to instilling the correct mentality in the group (and having their own section). The best way to start would be to get together a group of lads, who are prepared to stand together and keep the singing going throughout the game. You would also need a capo or at least someone prepared to start chants and sh*t. The chants should also probably be a bit more interesting than the 'classic' city chants.

The Big Bank has the potential, but this will need a massive amount of organisation.

The scarves and stuff look great though. Good luck!

EDIT: Might be worth having a gander at other British 'Ultra' chants on YouTube and joining UK ultra forums, regardless of club. Get the name out there.

Good places to start.

Cool, ok well that's a good enough response to go and get some sorted. I'll take into account what people have said, but obviously I can't please everyone with amends, I'm used to having one client ;) I think I'll add in ECFC into the badge change it to siege army in the middle, should be enough to make it a tad more city.

The profits (if there are any they'll be small; the only reason I'm doing this is to see people have them in the stands:) will not go to the trust - 1904 shirts will be making a reappearance soon for that - I'd rather anything made goes back into more Siege Army stuff, be that banners or scarves again or whatever.

Will sell them on eBay at around a tenner.

Alan Shearer - I think it's possible although it's one step at a time.

Scarves and hopefully the flags will help be a catalyst, and then we can build from there. Our unique structure at the club, should mean it's reletively easy to get this sort of group together, especially with exeweb as a tool.

Longer term it's be great to see those sort of displays, but one step at a time; there be plenty that need convincing still - hopefully creating a good atmosphere at home should help. Hopefully stuff like scarves and what not will help people recognise who wants to make noise on the bank, which is the main thing.

I agree we need a leader or two as TVR is not there every home game which is a shame. But I'm sure others will step up to the mark :)
