The main thing really is the bankroll management aspect. If you get that down you can largely nullify the luck :)

Also wow, didn't realise the 11r was worth so much! Dwarfs my $5k score from last month!! (mattcrocker on PS)
.....bankroll management is easily said and not that easily achieved, after a nice tourney win i'm far too loose - poker is a game of constantly learning though, I'm sure i'll get there one day:)

The 70k was the overall purse mate (sadly) 1st time is was 10k then 7.5k after a 4way ft deal.

I'll say hello on the tables when i see you mate.

The "trick" with all gambling is knowing when to walk away. When I've played roulette I put down a small stake and try to double it. Once I have I play with my profits and take my stake back. If I keep winning I bank more as I go and if I lose I never lose much. Safety first and I'll never win big, but frankly if I leave a casino with more money than I started with, I'm a happy bunny.

Oh, and never play chance games online unless there are real people playing against you.

Fair enough NG, your discipline is commendable......but where's the thrill?

I've come away with a tidy profit before (percent-wise, £40 profit from a fiver). Out-casinoing the casino every now and then is very satisfying, but I'd rather win an accumulator on football. Not that I ever have :(

Na, it's pretty easily achieved you just need some bloody willpower :p make some rules, stick to the rules, easy peasy :D

From little acorns matt;) - the 1st big tourney win is the hardest mate, once thats under your belt it gives you the confidence to have some more.

My month aint going to well either mate, ran deep in the $5 turbo (20k gtd) last night - maintained a stack nicely over the average right through and got down to the last 20 players from 4500 in 6th position. Raised utg with KK and got min raised by the very loose chip leader in the BB, I obv came over the top and shoved and he called with 3's - would have given me the chip lead but he made a 3-7 str8 on the river - im out and the cat got kicked:(

Do we need a bad beat thread?:)

:D ha, other peoples bad beat stories are as dull as f*ck anyway - they never seem quite as bad as your own anyway!

You gonna play some of the big tourneys coming up for stars' 10th birthday celebration?

There's gonna be some huge guarantees flying about.

I'm def gonna play that 10 million gtd sunday million (2 mill min.for 1st) - in fact I'm gonna win the f*cker;)
