I went to Exeter School, albeit a long time ago before it was truly "private" as it were. Back then there were scholarships for capable kids from less monied backgrounds. I'd echo some of the comments on here - if your lad is capable and self-motivated he may well succeed to a similar degree (no pun intended) at any reasonably good school. If he needs pushing then ES is probably worth the trip.

Most of the ##LINK REMOVED## offer financial plans, scholarships or other packages. You might want to ask the admission office about this. The alumni often fund students in private schools especially if they are deserving or worthy for a school aid. Good luck!
Moreover, reputable schools often have an alumni foundation that offers scholarships. When you've found the perfect school, be sure to ask about scholarship opportunities. Also, some schools use a 10 month payment schedule while others use a 12 month payment schedule.
