I have a recollection of Alfie getting home first and locking Mum out. Great stories to read to very young children. My son doesn't remember though.

He was indeed legendary.One of the characters of Australian cricket for over a decade on the field.
He refused to congratulate Geoff Boycott after he had hit his 100th 100 at Headingley in 1977 saying he had tickled a ball to him from Ray Bright earlier in his innings. Called a England batsmen back in another Test after they had been given out, said to the umpire that he was unsure if it had carried as he caught it a millimetre off the grass & to call him back.
Played it very hard,but also played it fair...Made a few quid on the infamous 500-1 Test too

Wow, that's a shock. He was a cricketing legend without question. What a talent but what a nice bloke, what a brilliant commentator what a brilliant cricketer. Such sad news. RIP Warney.
