Anyone else a big fan? It's the only type of betting I have ever made a profit on, and it's a lot more fun than watching the results coming in (or not coming in) on final score.
I used to be a regular when I was in 6th form, went in most days with a fiver and often came out with treble that, infact if I didn't win that money i don't think I would have been able to afford running my car.
I'm at university now, went into the casino the other night with £20 and walked out with £260, that money will help me to get me through to the end of term. On the other hand, a lad from my Uni lost £1500 in one week and couldn't afford to pay his accomodation, so you have to be carefull and only bet what you can afford to lose.

My tips for success?

Never bet on green

Be flexible, I see so many people just stick to one colour and they stake all their money on it until they eventually lose it all

Avoid betting on low/high, stick to the 1st and last 12

Bet against the table, especially on the 4th go (if it has been red 3x in a row, go black)

Don't have lucky numbers, I would suggest betting on numbers ending in the same digit (1,11,21,31) if there hasn't been a 1 (or any other number) in a while, it is uncanny how several may come in a row

Always bet more on the evens chance bets (black/red, odd/even) than the ammount you are spreading around the table- I would advise no more than 25% of total stake should be on individual numbers

Everyone has good and bad nights, if it isn't going well for you after 30 minutes, leave, don't try and recoup what you have lost

Absolutely everything here is wrong and most of them are instances of Gambler's Fallacy.

If there's been 100 reds in a row a black is not "due". The wheel has no memory, it's an independent event. After 100 reds, the chance of a black is 50/50. It is always 50/50. It will never not be 50/50.

I hate roulette.

Also congratulations on your winnings but you are not a profitable roulette player. It is a mathematical impossibility.

I watched a bloke put about £300 in a Bookies game machine playing roulette in less than 10 minutes. The previous 6 numbers were black so he stuck £10 on red, then £20 on red, lost Then £40 on red and lost, £80,£160 and black kept popping up. His idea was to get his money back, but black kept coming in. Big game of luck.

It is a game of luck but I have also made a profit on it. Paid for my holiday to Riga from playing roulette. Went in with 20 quid left with 200. I only play with the odd quid left over in my paddy power account thses days but often withdraw money after making it up to a tenner.

I picked my words very carefully. You can make a profit but you can never be profitable.

This is known as the Martingale system and is a really bad idea. The theory is attractive (given an infinite bankroll you will always show profit) but in practice you make very small wins and then lose your bankroll every 1 out of 2^n times.

In fact even with an infinite bankroll you can always hit an infinitely large streak of losses, and given the infinite time the chances of it happening are 100%.

As you may be able to tell I love gambling theory.

A couple of years ago I was in a casino in Bristol, thankfully too ****** to be able to work out where the cash machine was, and saw a Roulette table spin black 14 times consecutively. I saw people lose sickening amounts of cash convinced the next one had to be a red.

Yup, pretty much, but at least I'm not deluding myself that I can win at roulette.
