You need a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) to extend your licencing hours abnormally. Usually you have to give 10 clear working days notice but there is something called a late TEN which is 5 days. Either way it is alas too late for the weekend - unless they have already done it.

On the pitch, I think it is the best we have played and largely dominated. Need to score next - don't fancy our chances in extra time
Thanks RP, sad to think that we could qualify for a World Cup Final, and red tape gets in the way of celebrating in style ! Will just have to stock up the fridge and wait for the Populace to revolt.(n)

That is harsh. Gave the ball away cheaply twice just before it but still - didn't deserve that. Thought we bossed the 2nd half.

Shame

What a horrible way to lose. Poor Laura Bassett.

I feel so desperately sorry for Laura Bassett. I thought England would win that in extra time; they certainly bossed large chunks of the game.

Coalman Balls: I'm a goalkeeping analyst, I dont get involved with penalties as a rule, even for occasions like yesterdays when neither was a penalty. Seems our girls are picking up bad habits from the men, with their 'feel a touch and they go down' mentality.

A very cruel way to go out. That said, and this may be a by-product of watching the men's team, there was always a feeling at the back of my mind that something was going to go wrong despite having played so well. It was just a shame that it happened with no time to do anything about it.

Backing Gary Caldwell, thanks Matt and good luck.
That's football, no one would have cared if it was a side they had a grudge against losing like that or if England had gone through in a similar manner. Glad it was on at stupid o'clock or I may have got sucked into watching it as well. well done to the girls in any case for getting that far.
