But to his credit when we do hit form, we tend to stay in form.

Very weird. Perhaps it suggests he sticks with the same plan for too long, but when he does finally mix it up, gets it right?
Too stubborn to give up on a bad idea?Like Key playing upfront?

Or not understanding that Jack who while not being a great defender was as Pompey have shown a more than decent midfielder

Or hanging on to Nombe was a price worth paying ?

That would have helped, but there were three poor runs last season,we are in a 4th now. There is a suspicion that Caldwell struggles to dig himself out of a hole. If it carries on,more fans will be asking why.

He just seems stubborn and doesn't like change...

Shouldn't be this far into the season with three 'strikers' one of whom turned up with a peg leg.... 👍

The squad needs a good shake up but there is no depth, the only good for a while has been Demi, and he's off end of the season,as are the loanees and thus another summer rebuild begins...

That's the worry..

How do you know that he didn't want to hang on to Sam, and that it wasn't the Club Board that insisted on selling him ?

It's a 50/50 for sell him or keep him...

I feel the club could benefit from a director of football again to help the board with footballing decisions, not just for the sustainability aspect or financial.

Everyone keeps going on about Nombe leaving but did the lad even get on the scoresheet this seaso for us before he left? All I remember was him missing a pen against Wycombe
