It’s rugby. No-one really cares about minority sports.

The point is they have been using video technology in refereeing for a long time and it's still a pig's ear. Expect the same in football.

This VAR in the Spurs v Rochdale game is absolute garbage.....& a penalty being disallowed for a stop start run up.....bizarre

Whoever it was commenting on the wireless during the match said VAR/Ref we’re right and that Son’s very pronounced stop is not allowed under the rules. Having seen some highlights since, there were several players in the box even before Son ground into gear so should it have been retaken ?

It's easy. Leave the bloody game alone. Fans love the controversy a debatable refereeing causes. It's part of the love of the game. It's only money that wants it to be clean.

Just as much controversy and debate with VAR.

You will not be able to stop the onward march of technology.

Pretty much disagree with everything you say - but given it's snowing I agree on this.

Referees & Linesman are human - footballers are human , leave it alone

Backing Gary Caldwell, thanks Matt and good luck.
There needs to be some common sense regarding what it is used for. Absolute miscarriages of justice like maradonna's hand of God, Thierry Henry's handball, lampards "goal" in the 2010 World Cup and the one that Spurs were denied at old Trafford years ago are the sorts of things that VAR should be able to ensure are correct.

However what they need to try to stop is too many situations when someone scores and isn't able to properly celebrate because the decision has been challenged. It affects the emotion of the moment in cricket when a wicket goes down in a big match and the players and crowd go wild only to then have to stand around chewing their finger nails while the decision is checked. Can you imagine if we score a huge goal like Stacey v Carlisle or Ollie or nards v Plymouth and then after an amazing celebration it gets overturned on a marginal technicality.

It's a bit of a nightmare decision that could be seen both ways. I hate injustices which should be made right, but also the emotion of goals being scored and celebrations are one of the best things about the game.
