Why is it that David Cameron is constantly being labelled as a 'toff' in order to negatively influence his vote, whereas for privately educated Cambridge graduate Nick Griffin it's never mentioned. Not forgetting Nick Clegg!

Then there's Winston Churchill, a man who came from an incredibly priviledged background, yet has been adopted by the BNP and its supporters as 'one of them'.

It strikes me as a bit of a strange thing to attack a politician for.

As for UKIP...!

Toff isn't necessarily about your background but more about how you carry yourself.

I don' t think Griffin's background is actually that much of a factor in my thinking he is a disgusting tw*t of epic proportions......

The only 2 people with any chance of being Prime Minister is going to be Brown or the Toff.

I think people saw with Thatcher and the cronies she appointed to the cabinet that they did not understand the lives of the "ordinary" person (the society jibe and the comment about people who use buses) being 2 obvious ones). It is important to people that elected people have some idea about the realities of their lives, not just what their nannies and butlers tell them.

Elected people like Harriet Harman - so posh she went to great lengths to curb her Pricess Di public school accent in order to fit in. She ended up under Tony Blair who went to the poshest school north of Watford, Fettes, where they beat every last ounce of Scottish accent out of you.

I don't buy the "Party class divide" stuff - it's there as a cheap shot to discredit someone if you can't think of much else.

Margaret Thatcher's parents had a Grocer's shop in Grantham.

According to Wikipedia Harriet Harman is the niece of the Countess of Longford and had parents who were a Harley Street Surgeon and a Solicitor.

RIP Stanno, City Legend never to be forgotten
I'm privately educated.

I'm very far removed from being a 'Toff'.

To relate the two directly is a nonsense - some of the kids I shared a classroom with, many true 'Toffs' would probably label as 'scum'.

I'd suggest that mosts 'Toffs' are private/public school educated, but it certainly doesn't follow that most or all private/public school educated people are 'Toffs'.

If you don't believe me, my Butler or Chauffeur can provide sufficient evidence.

That is all.

We're talking about who is going to be Prime Minister here. Why should we want a toff as Prime Minister?

Harperson is desperate to be PM.

Inbuilt prejudices really aren't great for the soul.
