Considerable changes to the SWT services on the Waterloo line from today.

Journeys now "split" at Salisbury and a significant reduction in frequency.

Welcome to the (semi)-privatised Rail system v.2022. Now that the taxpayer picks up ALL of the losses (but still pays the operators a tidy little guaranteed "management fee") the only trains still operating to full capacity are the ones delivering the gravy to the franchisees and their shareholders.

Privatise the profit, socialise the debt. Surely you understand that by now?

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
I can’t remember the last time I took the train.I was going to go on the RaWZ Tour to Sutton on NYD,but with my plans,it proved impracticable.

Where is the promised reform & easy to grasp train fare pricing ?
It’s ridiculously complicated still, ticket splits & the rest of the nonsense that goes with it.
Little wonder most of the trains west of Bristol seem to run at 20% capacity on the main line at the moment for most of the day.

Have done for many, many years.
Sadly, too many have at time been deluded by weasel words and false promises of milk and honey by the "financial libertarians" come election time.

Yesterday at Eastleigh station was a old Intercity 125 with those bright blue pullman coaches attached, I think Olds posted a photo of them on here a while back, Lovely sight, Had a sneek peak in the carriages and they look rather nice, Much better than nowadays on SWR.

Today I'm travelling from Eastleigh to Camborne, Just got on the GWR train to Penzance at Reading and really looking forward to the journey, Passing through the most beautiful countryside and the coast route at Dawlish, Bonus is that there is not a cloud in the sky so hoping it stays like that.

This is a great book to accompany the journey. Written in 1924 it tells you everything that you can see out of the window. Though things have changed a bit in the last 92 years :) and the train goes a bit faster so no so easy to spot things!
