Do you think the moves to impeach Trump will lead the extreme nutters within his support base to kick off again very soon ? That could be really nasty.

While Trump deserves to be impeached I am not all convinced it is in the best interests of Uncle Sam right now. Leave it to the criminal law to deal with him after he leaves office.

Much worse for the US would be the negative, long-term effect of allowing a sitting president (or anyone else) to to try to coerce election officials through veiled threats to fraudulently alter the result of an election and to incite a gang of extreme right-wingers and loonies to attack the heart of their constitution, without any punishment. In addition, if he is successfully impeached he will no longer be able to hold any official position. You can't appease him just because you're afraid of the consequences.

Yes. O'Connell is putting the word out that he agrees with the impeachment, although he's always supported Trump in the past.
Many in the Republican Party have shown their true colours over the last few years, and it's not something to like.
One of the worst is Lindsay Graham. If ever there was a bloke who put his own interest above everyone else and was a total hypocrite it is him.

I mean : They are not supporting impeachment because they think impeachment will jeopardize the unity of the nation.
