I see Woking are going to be submitting a plan for a new 10,000 seater stadium about a mile away from where they are now.

As I recall we had an incident, at Woking. Slightly embarrassing to be rounded up at Woking station, put on a train that was stopped at Honiton and bussed back to Exeter with a police escort. The more so since I was Chair of the Club at the time.

That was a crazy afternoon.
There was aggro on the Station at Woking.
The Police were called at Basingstoke station, surrounded the train for about a hour, before decamping the other passengers, filming all Exeter followers(& taking names iirc) before sending the train non stop to Honiton with a load of plod on board..!!
A surreal day all round..

East Hull to give £5k to a fan at each home game. Ironically their next home game is against North Ferriby for whom the East Hull owner wrecked.

The Conference has now been going 40 years! I tend to remember it the Alliance Conference, though possibly General Motors/Vauxhall might have been first.

The Conference was called the Alliance Premier League until 1986 when it was renamed the Conference. The first sponsors were Gola, then it became the GM Vauxhall Conference in '86 when the league was renamed.

I remember when the Alliance League started.
A lot of the usual basket cases in the FL were worried about being re elected but as it turned out it was only when auto promotion & relegation was introduced in 1987 that any teams were replaced..

Trowbridge Town were in the Alliance League for a few seasons in the early days.

Rochdale only survived over Altrincham by one vote!
