I actually had a game of 'street golf' with a few mates in Birmingham back in the 70s.

We'd got back from a summer gig at about 4 in the morning and thought we'd take advantage of the traffic free side streets.
Golf club, tennis balls, small cardboard box as the movable 'hole' - finishing off with some proper distance holes in the local Cannon Hill park with a rubbish bin as a finishing point.

Great fun.

Yes , used to do the same years ago around Stoke Hill .Mind you , guessing , the traffic was probably a tenth of what it is now.Very few of us on the estate had cars.Doubt there were that many potholes either!
