We missed it of course
To be fair, it was a good stop. Good height for him but a strong hand to it

What the hell are we doing playing pre-season friendlies against the likes of Taunton, and losing?

Controlled the first half without really looking like scoring. It seemed that Martin, Woody and MJ had more possession than the other 19 players on the pitch for most part but it was all a bit slow and indulgent. Be interesting to know if they had a decent training session earlier today which would still be in their legs.

Second half went behind to a very good 20 yard volley after a header clear by Cundy which could have been better. Second goal was poor, no pressure on a cross from deep to a free header down and unmarked striker to finish.

Apart from a few Sparkes drives forward from left wing back, it looked like we were drifting a bit tamely. A strong challenge by Ben Chrisene which led to a chance for Randell seemed to get us going and we showed decent fight to come back.

Typical poachers goal by Seymour following in from a header and then a good header from Will Dean when Sparkes got his corner delivery right.

Typically hard fought game from Taunton and food for thought for Matt. Cundy seems a bit nervous to commit and might take time to settle in. Fisher I hope is like Flackie and just doesn't do friendlies, although gets through his running. Hard to judge Maxted as no real Chance with the goals and apart from a smart save to his left in first half and decent punch in the second, not much to do.
