Please sign this and share it with your friends. This is too important to ignore. We need to start nationalising our key infrastructure so it is affordable and beneficial to us all, not privatise more of it to push up prices and benefit share holders.

You do realise prices will continue to be set by Ofcom?

I'll sign it once Royal Mail have sorted out its £10bn pensions black hole.

The fact is they can't. Privatisation is its only hope.

Has the doomsday scenario predicted by the naysayers happened in Germany?

On the contrary, I fully expect Deutchse Post/DHL to have a controlling interest in the Royal Mail at the end of this privatisation process.
Perhaps they`ll do an 'EDF' and offset the cost of having to offer their home customers cheaper services by having carte blanche to rip off UK consumers at will!

You're too late. If you want to keep Royal Mail (letters) strong they either need to have the monopoly on letters or the Government need to level the playing field and force every other firm who decides they want to go into the letters business to run their own network instead of cherry picking the business customers, delivering in the major cities and then putting the rest back into the Royal Mail system for the postman to deliver at less profit to Royal Mail. As the Government aren't ever likely to level the playing field that means Royal Mail are going to have to get clever and the usually costs money, money that it isn't going to get whilst it's in a continual downward spiral with the profitability of letters. The only thing that is keeping RMG going is parcels.
As for any one company having a controlling stake in Royal Mail, I doubt it. It's way to big for that too happen in the foreseeable future and I'm not sure that an outside firm would want to get tied to the universal delivery clause that is going to be built into any sell off.
