Strong lobbying for Exeter born Joe Launchbury to become England captain, rather than the hotly tipped Dylan Hartley.
Dylan Hartley it is. Just watched him on tv promising to put his past behind him.

Exeter Chiefs Henry Slade, who missed this years 6 Nations through injury, has been named as the Plymouth Herald sports personality for 2015. Henry, who broke his leg in a league match against Wasps, says he hopes to be back in 6 weeks.

(Soon to be) Exeter's Devo on the bench.

Will be looking out for the in form Robshaw on the blindside, where he should have been all along, and without the burden of captaincy. Don't like the immobile Farrell as a centre, so will be watching to see how he performs too. Really looking forward to this one.

Devoto's arrival at the Chiefs next year will see the number of the under 20's team that won the 2013 World Cup rise to 6.

In full agreement about Farrell, plus he's got a petulant side to him which the Scots might work on.

The Blindside is Robshaw's club position and I expect him to shine on Saturday.

Another bloke I don't rate is James Haskell. He might have the build but he's just so infernally clumsy. Dave Ewers might just have the shirt off his back when he's fit again.

It was far from being champagne match, However, a win is a win against a team supported by a few pretty unpleasant people in tartan. Billy Vunipola was deservedly mom. The two highlights for me were Jack Nowell's try in the corner and the sight of the Right Honourable Nicola Sturgeon who appeared to be chewing a wasp when Princess Anne presented the Calcutta cup to the England Captain.

Agree no classic, and with no wrecking ball selected at centre, Billy was effective as midfield ball carrier, and picking up and driving from the base. That said, the back row for me is the problem, slow to the breakdown with and without the ball, makes the team look ponderous. Launchbury gets around the park quicker than 6 or 7. Long been a problem not having an available jackal, but there must be somebody pacy out there FFS, Clifford ? Ewers is an ox, rather him at 6 than Robshaw on that showing.

Farrell left it late to show the guaranteed petulance, and kicked like a mule, so why is he there ? Hartley needs to work on his communication skills, at least with the ref, but was on his best behaviour throughout, so naturally lost some of that edge. Scrum was solid though.

It was discussed at work today about how slow the back row was at the breakdown. It was suggested that Dave Ewers would be ideal at blindside with the speedy Mike Kvesic coming in on the openside.

Before Thomas Waldron came to Exeter, Didn't Dave Ewers wear the 6, 7 and 8 shirt?
