I'm sure I heard GC say it recently in relation to Cole.

"I felt the midfield could do with more reecency"

Well done Ollie, Finally not overlooked, Hopefully he'll grasp this opportunity with both hands.
Congratulations to Ollie and was thinking exactly the same.

He's signed a new 'long-term' deal at Villa.

Think Ollie has made a mistake in signing the deal. Imo club wise He needed to step up a level ie a champions LGE club.. he hits the stats he has ,for say .. arsenal or ??? He'd be one of the first on Southgates squad sheets.. as it is he's a fill in IF someone's injured.. sorry.. but that's down to being at Villa..BUT that's not to say a club with very deep pockets won't come in for him but with signing a long term contract at 27.. makes him a far less attractive proposition.. but hey it is what it is and if Ollie is happy...all's good.. ish 🫣

Every career choice he's made has been spot on. Main striker at a established and improving Premier league team or squad player for someone else so he can have a few more england caps

Why should Ollie care about that?
He's got longer security and presumably a higher wage, why would he not agree to that???
