Kellingley Colliery - the last UK deep coal pit.

The final death of the British Coal Mining industry after a long illness. :(

The most innovative man to ever grace the game. He changed so much about football, the abolishment of the maximum wage, three points for a win, the first all seater stadium in Britain and shirt sponsorship to name but a few. Hemight not have been everybodies cup of team on TV but he football as we know it today owes much to Jimmy.

Lord Janner dies at 87. And takes some secrets with him, allegedly.

Following on from my mention of Kellingley Colliery, by a strange coincidence Lord Ezra, chairman of the National Coal Board back in the 70s.

Managed to outlast the deep mining industry by a whole four days.

Just another thought on Don Howe , he played at SJP on the 2nd December 1964 as part of the Arsenal team in the game that saw the then new floodlights officially used for the first time . I was at that game and still have the programme , I notice that one of the linesmen was a Mr. O M Mullarkey , guess he must be related to Mike Mullarkey , too much of a coincidence otherwise . Perhaps our friend in Avondale , AZ will know the answer .
