Yes sorry, the asterisks are the bands, the crossword style numbers are the song titles and the years are the years. The theme should reveal itself before too long.

The starting and ending points of the chain have been correctly identified.
Point of order there Swanny. I had dismissed Iron Maiden as an answer as there were SEVEN asterisks for the second word in the band's name ! Humph ! :mad:
