Fair dos. I thought it was Are Friends "Electric", but that shows how interested I am in Numan. :D Any road up, its not indie (I believe) and certainly not the tune that I was humming. Good shout, though.

The group I am thinking of were/ are more political than Numan...

On that basis, I'm going for Nice 'n' Sleazy by the Stranglers.
Another good shout, although not exactly indie, but I can confirm that the inverted commas do not replace missing letters in this case.

Released on a label that is not a major, established label. If you start relating it to musical genres, IMO, it gets a bit meaningless.
