Loving the boy Stanno
I agree, I thought GC called it perfectly tonight, we just needed a bit more luck or composure in attack. We were superb tonight.

So much better when we switched to 3 at the back and Brown came on. Nombe really should have scored from Browns brilliant through ball. Not sure about Keys new role on the left tho

I'm happy with a point in what I see as a transition point in our shape. Caldwell wants a chance to play four at the back, no fault of his our squad is built on 3 at the back.

If we'd wanted a clone of Matt Taylor with should chosen Kevin Nicholson, new managers new ideas, thats the way it goes. Personally can see progress with these new ideas.

Must say though, we must be f@king good if we can omit the sublime creative talents of the God that is Jevanni Brown.

indeed. it's not an issue when we've got the sublime creative talents of jonathan grounds though. decent performance i thought but hope caldwell settles on a relatively stable starting 11 soon

Just saw the last ten minutes on the boat home from work but we were all over them at the end. Not a bad point although we might be expected now to beat opposition like Morecambe even away from home. Still, I'm not too unhappy about that. Was Josh Key playing on the left and what was that about, somebody please? I don't think he's the kind of winger that cuts in and shoots on his right so can't really work that out myself.

The formation wasn't bizarre or defensive - it was simple 442. But it was how those roles were filled that was the issue.

Grounds is not a left back. Sweeney used to be but was never any more than adequate, especially lately. Then he found his niche at RCB where he has been a revelation. Playing him at right back is a backward step...

Key is wasted on the left. If you need to play a right footer on the left side of midfield' Caprice is the better option. Sparkes would be better than both of them.

Diabate has lost confidence. I'm not sure how much Taylor's departure has affected him.

The main problem with 442 is that there's no room for Brown. I'd prefer a Liverpool style 4 3 3, but, as some of us keep saying, we desperately need a left back and another centre half if a back four is the future.

As to the game itself I've never seen a home side settle for a point against us quite like Morecambe did. Our second half possession must have neared 80%. Mind of you a lot of that was passing sideways and backwards which seems to be our new specialist subject.

Enjoyed the civil disobedience in response to the Stewards' ridiculousness. Presumably they were trying to save on the cleaning costs of the empty block; serves them right that Razor was sick in it...

...and Stanno was knackered and should have been subbed after 75 minutes. But we didn't have anyone to replace him...

Matt Jay could have been an option.

Boom ! Take that . I’ve hated them ever since the midget danced from the sidelines at Wembley in their play off win so I F****** want a win tonight !
Sammy McIlroy is 5ft 11in. Pretty tall for a ‘midget’.
