Matey for Barrow put a fair few good long ones in last night, mainly in the first half IIRC.

We don't seem to use this tactic.

What do others think of it as a strategy ?

Do we have a long throw specialist ?

Apologies if it should be Throws In

Only Hartridge really. Randell can throw reasonably long but more of a looping throw than Hartridge can manage.

Part b is obviously making the most of it in the box but if it's one of your centre backs doing the throwing it cuts down an option. Last effective long thrower was Gilly.

No idea why we don't use Hartridge. Easy enough for a midfielder to drop back in defence to cover him.

Taylor doesn’t like to use it because it puts Hartridge out of position apparently (someone previously stated a few weeks back). We might not be the biggest team but it turns into something from nothing. Personally, it annoys me we didn’t use it to our advantage. We might not be the biggest team but it could drop to anyone.

Tozer, Goode & other players I’ve seen us play against lately all use it, always against us, always causes a problem.

Waste of a goal threat from Taylor. Fed up with our tactics and decisions this season.

It's not that Matt doesn't like it, he just wanted Hartridge to concentrate on simplifying his game as he settled into playing at first team level. He said that it was something that would happen in time.

I think other dead ball situations are a far higher priority first. Let's sort out our woeful corners and chequered free kicks. Our inability to get the ball into the box with any consistency from either is atrocious !

Is it easier to execute an accurate long throw in than a corner Mr Ballz ?

Assuming a player for each skill of equal talent.

I'm not certain that use of the towel or inside of shirt is "COVID compliant" and if it is one of of subs should hide the towels !
