For no reason at all, because I was bored, and with no formula or structure to my thinking/analysis, I thought I would rank the 92 clubs in order of their 'bigness'. A deliberately ill-defined term, so as to avoid criticism... Comments welcome of course. I hope there are 92:

Good effort. Personally I would say Fulham and Wigan are too high, Notts County and Tranmere too low and Blackpool are definitely bigger than Argyle

Tonight's games. Both important at the bottom of the table

Cambridge vs Wycombe
Cheltenham vs Peterborough

Cheltenham absolutely must win. Peterborough need to win to for an outside chance of automatic promotion.
Darren Ferguson has indicated that he will be resting some key players ahead of the playoffs, which may in turn give Cheltenham a little more hope. It would still rank as a "Great Escape" if Cheltenham did manage to win both their remaining games and Burton were to lose on Saturday !

It's probably sensible to not consider automatic promotion as several results need to go their way. But if I was a fan I would want them to go for it.

Back when the "Statto" website was consistently updated I used to use it to produce what I called the "Natural Level Quotient", the simple stat calculation being average league position since WWII.

A really good effort! Although I would have Blackburn above some of the other clubs ahead of them as they have won the Premier League after all!

It's interesting how many of the clubs who are generally perceived to be bigger than City - Wrexham, Stockport, Carlisle, Gillingham, Vale - have rarely, if ever, finished above City over the last few years.

I would think Villa, Everton and Leeds are all bigger than West Ham, and maybe Wolves and Forest too.

It depends what your using in your metrics, history presumably isn't one of them otherwise most of the bottom dozen are in the wrong order to start with given that Barrow and Accrington Stanley were League clubs previously to their current tenure.

Wash your mouth out.

Using the word “bigness” in any complimentary way in connection with the Green Slime is just wrong (n)
