March 16th 1993 I was at Vale Park to witness us lose 2-1 with a rare Danny Bailey strike for us being a notable highlight. Back then this fixture was in the Football League Trophy which I think was the forerunner to what we now call the EFL Trophy.

We drew the second leg 1–1 with ‘Mr very average’ Jason Minnet notching for City.

This LC season maybe the last under current arrangements.
From next season additional euro games for top clubs.
PL discussed last week what to do about the LC.
Poss euro teams enter even later than do now.
Or field U21 teams.
Or I suppose not enter at all.
No decision yet, I think.

I reckon Liverpool away, and invite Danny Butterfield and Will Hoskins back to relive the glory days of that replay.

Also maybe sign Clinton Morrison on non-contract terms to do a job up top, if we're still struggling with injuries.
