Good luck to him, but seriously doubt he will cut it in the championship.
He is good and looks dangerous, until he crosses the ball or tries to pass it.

I wish him the best, but also glad he left - As wasn't a proper chap and purposely drove down his contract and didn't make an effort last season in the process.

Although, if you read the article it gives the impression that we weren't prepared to sell as opposed to him rejecting an offer.
Interesting , and re reading the devon live article Hull weren't prepared to pay as much as Peterborough at the time and he rejected Posh, with Hull then looking elsewhere. https://www.devonlive.com/sport/football/transfer-news/randell-williams-rejects-move-away-4525389 Good for him to get the two year deal with possible extension which I doubt Hull will apply unless they are in the third division as he is not a championship winger, too inconsistent and drifts in and out of games too much.

Shame he didn't go last year now after the effort we got from him last season, although any money we may have got would have had to be split at the time with Watford. Good luck Randy and thanks for your first season with us

Yeah even as a Randell Williams fan I’m not convinced the Championship is his level. Time will tell, good luck to him.

Good luck to Randel. It's a pity injury and distractions affected his game last season but he still gave us some good moments
Will be interesting to see if he can raise his game when playing with better players.

Basically, he's screwed us over hasn't he? Hull weren't prepared to pay us much, Peterborough presumably weren't prepared to pay him as much (because they were paying a bigger fee).

Therefore it would seem he agreed with Hull he'd run his contract down, sign for them for free, get paid more by Hull (because their overall outlay is lower) and we get FA.

Your reading of the Devon Live article matches what I had understood.

- Hull had made an offer which was rejected by City.

- Peterborough agreed to pay a fee that City *did* accept, but then Randell/his agent couldn't/didn't agree terms with Posh.

Anyway good luck to Randell. A very good signing for City, capable of being very creative and unlocking defences, good enough for top League One/Championship teams to want to sign him, might have generated a profit etc.

Let's hope that MT can find some more talented young players and make some signings of young talented players like he did with Randell.

Super Ronnie,
I imagine this happens all the time
It was made clear by Matt from the start Williams saw his move to City as a stepping stone.
In effect, he did what was best for him. It works both ways. City release players when we don't get value from them even when those players don't want to leave . Sentiment rarely comes into it. It's a business

That's one way of looking at it but to me too long a period of time is involved, but the real winner is Randy, got another year of income from us get's two years (+1 if he performs), and a signing on fee, from Hull, higher league = higher pay, plus will get another signing on fee when he doesn't perform in the championship and is moved on to a league one team in the future with another two year contract with an option, so the guy is sorted for the next three or four years, cost of living cheaper oop north as well.

Hope he has as good a financial advisor as he has agent to invest the singing on fees

confirmation from Hull that it was ECFC who turned down a 'big fee' that Hull offered. And that it is a 'coup' for them to get him on a free
