Formation for new season

I know we have a separate starting 11 thread but would be interested to see what people think about the formation we should start with for the season ahead.
Based on the players we have I'm tempted to go for a 3-1-4-2 given our lack of decent full backs.

Would then prioritise Taylor and Simpson as potential impact subs.

My original choice would be James as the man in front of back 4 but then I was struggling for centre midfielders.

Would need to see first few games to really judge who gels well with one another and form etc

Not sure if this would end up with either a lack of width or big holes in central midfield if we tried to keep the width. Given our strength in wide players I'm not sure a diamond would suit us.

Don't see the logic in having the likes of Holmes/Wheeler deployed as wingbacks. Both would be wasted there.

Our strongest position is out wide so that needs to be utilised. Either a 4-3-3/4-5-1/4-2-3-1 will suit us best.
