My book on Exeter City 'Gus Honeybun, your boys took one hell of a beating' is released on Friday, April 1. The 348-page, 130,000 word book details my life aboard the emotional rollercoaster which is ECFC from the late 70s to the present day. The book - published by sports book specialists Pitch Publishing - retails at £12.99 and ECFC are stocking it in the club shop. They are also holding a launch event on the Friday evening prior to the 5-0 win against Argyle. You can also pre order on Amazon - tap 'Gus Honeybun' into the search zone to find it. Any questions on the book, please ask.

Can you post a link to an extract Simon? I'd be interested but I've ready too many badly written 'enthusiast' books to risk £13 without a virtual leaf through.

The one thing that annoys me about many a football memoir are the incorrect dates of games & even incorrect results !
I do not think for a minute this will be a issue with Simons Book..

Have you ever picked up Bally's autobiography? Not sure who ghosted it, but it's all over the place as regards his time at City - confuses games, seasons and competitions. Like Olds, I can't see this being a problem for Simon, who is a journo of some standing.

I had no idea. Just googled him and find he writes about Saints for my local evening paper! Taken a punt on the book.

My own personal favourites are "Confessions of an Exeter City Nut" and "One flew over the crossbar" by our own Brian Kennedy. The latter was published in 2005 and gives a realistic if surreal picture of trying to support Exeter City from afar. The captions to the pictures make the price of the book worthwhile in its own right. Brian could probably still provide several copies to anyone interested!

Two very good reads indeed and no bias because I am pictured and mentioned :)
