One lone forward and hoof ball up to the poor sod isn't going to achieve ANYTHING !! I was led to believe by the Manager that we were better than that - apparently we are not !!

Don't believe we'll even make the playoffs (hope I'm proved wrong)

We've lost our way in terms of game plans, we appear to have reverted to a single plan of "long ball/hit and hope" which at L2 level is every centre backs dream. Failure to utilise pace, creativity and the "footballers" in our squad will come back to bite us hard.

Next two games our both an opportunity to win (obviously) but more importantly allow us to actual get back to playing passing, flowing football....lets see which direction the manager decides to go.

If we don't make the play offs would that be such a failure that a change in management should be done without question?

Now we've got some funds to spend, well I'm assuming we have. I think we should look at managers who have experience in purchasing players.

He's actually a perfect fit for a low league team. Gets 4th every year and is scared to spend the pennies

I don't think we should throw the towel in just yet, after all if we win our games in hand we are actually in 3rd spot with the leaders just 5 points ahead of us, there have been seasons when this might have produced some kind of excitement and not the wrist slitting despair that seems to have overtaken these boards recently!
Our promotion teams have had more robust characters in the past and yes even last season we offered more in the turning defence into attack kind of way. But the fact remains that we're "up there" so even if it's just politeness I feel we should be giving a bit more credit to the manager and his players in their achievement so far and show a little excitement in the fact that we're going into the play offs with a chance to progress further.

Losing JMT is a hammer blow but we should be backing our team in what might just be a historically important period for our club.

Q; What did you do in the great L2 Championship year of 2018 dad?

A; Moaned about the players and manager mainly, bloody rubbish.

As I said before , our lack of strike options will kill us.
Heaven help us if Stockley should get injured.Maybe scrape the playoffs then let down by the lack of goals. If we couldn't make it last term with Reid Wheeler and Ollie we certainly won't this.
When I saw the thread title I thought we were talking about the final third of the pitch where our problems lie!

I think the top 3 as it is now will go up automatically and i have a feeling that Mansfield will drop out of the play off places and be replaced by Coventry. Then it's them, us, Wycombe and Lincoln in the play offs.

It's getting so tight though with even Cambridge in 14th place on 50 points you couldn't definitively rule out. Our games in hand are vital and we need to win one of them at least to keep that decent gap between us and the chasing pack.
