As you all seem to like quizzes, I thought I would make up 20 questions using headlines from that great 1976/77 season. I remove a word and you have to guess what is the missing word. Some knowledge of that season will help, but should also be possible for those that are younger and not around at the time.

Won't be just from newspapers, but other sources as well.

Starts tomorrow.

This is the form. An example so to speak.

What is the missing word?

Well, if you have been watching your 1976/77 DVD you would know it was the manager at the time Newman, and that would have been your answer as here:

Point scoring:
5 points for the correct answer.
2 points if I have provided a clue.
1 points for the first wrong answer that made me larf

Starts tomorrow, and from then on at random times over the next 20 days.

A little teaser (no points) while we wait. One for MikeB no doubt. A scan of a reserves match programme from early 1976. So, who was the team we were playing?

And a talking point between yourselves, how many featured in 1st team games.

Melksham Town?
Correct. Should have taken the ground name out as well!

Programme goes on to give details of Melksham Town's kit buying. Two teams worth of kit comes to £150. Set of shirts £39.60.

Also missing from the scan. Proprietors were Love and Gay.
