I also went for a 1-1 draw on the monthly prediction thread and will stick with that.

Bowman for us.

Although we did have a similary bad run towards the end of the season, I wouldn't say we choked, more that we weren't quite good enough. Mansfield, on the other hand, looked to be comfortably one of the best 3 teams in the division yet contrived to somehow miss out on promotion.
Yeah I was thinking more like the final run of results where we just needed a win against some of the lesser teams (Cough cough Macclesfield and Crawley). Like you said Mansfield were in my top three impressive sides last season, and I'm hoping that CJ Hamilton doesn't find his scoring boots like last season (luckily Walker has signed on loan with Lincoln so he won't do us any damage)

I had us down to lose 3-1 in the prediction thread but for some reason I can see us getting a win. The form were in at the min we need to keep the momentum going. It will be a tight game but fancy us grabbing a 2-1. Mansfield haven't got going yet but I reckon they will be contenders come the end.

Mansfield are scoring goals and conceding goals. Since our defense is fairly tight I think we'll score more than them.

Given how good they looked that day it's still hard to believe how comprehensively they choked to throw away promotion - they lost their last 3 games when one win, or a draw on the last day, would have been enough.
The other way to look at it is that Mansfield were cheated out of promotion by Bury's over-spending. The Radfords aren't shy of publicity so I wonder if they will consider some sort of legal action, if indeed any is possible.

it's been a strange old season so far and we are top of the table without having played particularly well or, at least put together a good performance over the whole 90 minutes. The games we've won have been won with late winners and we couldn't have complained if we had drawn any of them. Conversely the games we have drawn we were disappointed not to have won. Therefore I predict either everything will click against Mansfield and we will won comfortably or the good run will come to an end with a dispiriting loss.

Boosted by the last game: an emphatic 3-0 win for City as Woodman gets a rare goal with a scuffed shot inside the area, a poachers goal by Bowman as Moxey hits the post, and a screamer from outside the box from Taylor. Attendance 4690 of which 201 are Mansfield fans.
