I think what I was trying to say is that Ethan should have gone on loan a year ago to a lower Premiership club and played a lot. And that whilst this rumour is that he is now going to do that this season, the source of the rumour is far from 100% reliable

In a way it was a surprising move for Amps to go off to Leipzig. Great experience for him, but as you say he might have gone off to a club like Brighton or a team of that level and maybe gotten a few PL games under his belt. That would also have allowed Cheesy to judge his progress better as a PL player. Any ideas, Andrew, why they might have sent him off to Germany?

my recollection is that Chelsea effectively let Ethan choose where he went out on loan. Understandable perhaps that he took the option of going to such a high rankEd and prestigious club, but as you say he would have been far better off playing 25 games for a struggling or mid table Prem team
Chelsea /Abramovitch must have some connection with Leipzig? I suppose Chelsea offered him on loan and Leipzig took up the offer. But he seldom played for Leipzig. Did he play for their reserve team?
