I've spoken to Shah a couple of times and it would be fair to say he's an instinctive cricketer rather than a intellectual.....:D

Nail on head I reckon! Lovely bloke, fantastic Cricketer, hardly likely to challenge the great minds of society.

First day of the tour match in St Kitts - KP looks like he means business, and a nice unbeaten ton from someone else too (while Bell made just 36).

Loving the free flowing entertaining football at S
If freddie is out , then there could be space for both of them.

Id imagine Broad would get the nod though being a more all round cricketer.

Broad should be in the side I reckon - although his bowling isn't quite consistent enough yet.

My team for the first Test (assuming Freddie is fit):

Strauss
Cook
Shah
KP
Colly
Freddie
Prior
Broad
Sideuknow (is he fit? Is he even touring? I've forgotten!)
Harmy
Monty

Harmy picked mainly due to the usual conditions in the WI, which are conducive to his bowling.

Anderson in for Sideuknow if the floppy-haired one isn't in contention.

Bell in (at 6) if Freddie injured.

What has Swanny done to be dropped I wonder

he was the most effective spin bowler in the last two test matches whereas Monty was **** poor

If anything it would be a kick up the backside for Monty - new broom and all that could be just what he needs.

Oh for Gawd's sake, now Owais is injured too! Hopefully nothing serious and just a precaution.

great news, Sidebottom and Shah both declared fit and Freddie will be fit by the first test match which is a good news
my XI for the first test

Cook
Strauss
KP
Shah
Collingwood
Flintoff
Prior
Sidebottom
Anderson
Harmison
Panesar

Sadly Panesar will retain his place after impressing in the first tour match, gutted for Swanny however he is playing in the current tour match
