I, like some others on here thought it was a step backwards in signing him. I don't swallow that guff about him being good at penalties, free kicks and crosses, that alone doesn't merit a place in the team if he has frailties elsewhere in his game. Perhaps it was just a one-off stinker, let's hope so.

Didn't see the game but......

Wasn't George looking a bit ropey the first few games he played last season? As was Duffy?
BJ, although playing in most of the pre-season hadn't played alot with Taylor and Duffy due to their injuries.

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he gets tha understanding he needs to play better in the next few weeks

To me Billy is better in a flat back four, not in Tis's formation on Saturday. Didnt think he looked comfortable all day - he isnt after all the most skillful player you will ever watch!

At points last year a lot of people said Duffy, Seaborne, Edwards and Friend weren't good enough/ out of their depth. Give the boy a chance.

In a meeting somewhere, some place...
Jim,

how dare you not write someone off without seeing them ... this is exeweb, man, and we demand snap decisions that may look silly later.

Did Billy play well? No

Is he out of his depth? Not a clue - far too fecking early to tell ...

Was the left side of the field poor on Sat? Yes it was - and something Tis will need to work on if we are to improve ...

Simple and to the point - totally agree.

Who would live in a house like this?
Too early to say. What worries me is not having specialist wing/ full backs and centre halves. I am much more comfortable with specialists playing in those positions rather thanplayers filling in.

I don't have a problem with Billy Jones at left back, where he has played most of his football, and at L1 level, too.

BJ will take time to bed in and and raise him game, after all he been use to playing competitive football at a lower level. Given time I hope that he will start to show he's good enough for this level.

I'm not convinced by him. Thought he looked poor in the pre-season games and made several errors and silly mistakes on Saturday. Time will tell but I'm yet to be won over.
