Never done this before
I prefer paperclips.
Manc is absolutely right. Staples are not archivally stable; brass paperclips are. It all depends on how long you want to keep your documents.

Personally, when it comes to archiving, i wouldn't use any metallic fasteners for fear of corrosion and subsequent paper damage.

Instead i would opt for a plastic sheath and a purpose made archiving container.

This is not a thread about archiving, gentlemen. Please stay on topic. If you need reminding why we are here, perhaps a visit to http://www.virtualstapler.com/ is in order.

I scored 14.

Reminds me of the crocodile of Punch and Judy fame.

Apologies for going off topic by the way.

I still don't know how jambo's school-teacher-style stapler would work. There seems to be no anvil plate to cinch the staple into the closed position.

No wonder we're confused...

This isn't what we need at all

Even more confusing, why is it 'jam-proof'? Who is going to be eating toast while stapling anyway?

Quite, one job at a time.

The whole thing looks over-designed and engineered to me, never mind a bit lightweight.

Romex cable up to 12-3? Pathetic.

I'm an advocat of the swingline 747 classic. Sleek design, excellent staple per punch, rubberished handling and in a range of classic colours. Quite simply the best in the business.

You don't happen to know the throat clearance on the 747 do you, upstart?
