It's not about what exact age he is... everyone has a point when they can't really do it anymore. Plenty of outstanding keepers well past 36... Plenty who are washed up before they get to that age. Zero clue on where Hamer is on that spectrum, but I'd guess for him to land here and do well, he'd need to be in that sweet spot of a lot of competing clubs thinking his goose is cooked, but he proves otherwise with us. If everyone still think's he can do it, we won't get him. Likewise, of course, he might sign for us and prove those other clubs correct! I'd love him back for the sake of nostalgia, but absolutely no clue if he'd be any good or not.

Sure, but he's been not playing games at a higher level, hasn't he. Would be up there with the best at this level through that time, I'd have thought.

If we’re able to look at anyone from Luton’s list of released players I’d be inclined to favour Fred Onyedinma.
Good experience at 27 with almost 350 career appearances including plenty in the Championship and League 1.
He even had 8 matches for Luton in the Premier League last season before being loaned to Rotherham.
He’s a versatile left sided player and I’d say an ideal replacement for Mitchell, if he doesn’t re-sign.
