Really??? I am surprised, especially the latter two. Success obviously influences that, it would be interesting seeing how the geography influences it, for instance a trip to Gillingham.
Gillingham v Stockport was a Tuesday night. Stockport took 378 away fans for the 478 mile round trip. The distance is the equivalent of us playing Stockport away funny enough! So i’d imagine that that figure would have at least doubled on a Saturday.

The biggest influence though is success. If Stockport had been mid table they would have been lucky to get half that that. They're a big fish in a small pond at the moment, that pond is going to turn into a lake next season and they won't be so big. Whilst Wrexham will obviously have Hollywood ideas, can you really see either Stockport or Mansfield achieving much more than mid table security? Their travelling support will taper accordingly. There is also a greater southern balance to League One than League Two.

looking at those figures above averages are largely irrelevant given how northern L2 is. Perhaps the respective figures for Newport away are the best indicator of what they may bring to us - around 650 maybe

First time Mansfield and Stockport have been in League One for a very long time, the latter have spent some time in the "boon docks" of non league, so don't be too quick to rule out "first season bounce" or a chance to play at the fallen giants languishing there.

16th in the table for attendances and surprised to be below Northampton. Most of the clubs with lower attendances are those round the bottom four - except Vale and Carlisle. The point being there is a strong correlation between gates and league position. Being sustainable in league one it appears you need gates around 8,000. Struggling to see how we can even get it to 7,000 let alone 8,000 without huge investment

What's the point of that. It would take some freakish results to deny Derby automatic promotion. With four teams chasing two play off spots one of those games surely would have been better.

Yeah, seems an odd choice. If Derby were away then I'd get there'd be lots of demand; but the spread from 5th to 8th is far more intriguing.

But happy to be well ahead of Vale, with their much bigger ground and proximity to away sides.
