Comfortably mid-table
The Exeter City player link is JEVANI BROWN
Which means the question 2 act begins with B.

Oddly enough if the 7,7 were the letters of an artist name and not a song and because of the 'Let's Go Brandon' jibe commonly used against Biden I'd have put in a mention for Brandon Flowers, the lead singer of the Killers, but I know that's a blind alley. Kind of neat' though.

Cometh the hour, cometh The Spoonzmeister (y)

The topical link is indeed Jevani Brown found by the initial letter of each act/surname of the singer in question. 5 points to Spoonz; but sadly it is not all over yet. :(

Points Table

Spoonz Red E 5
iscalad 4
Jason H 4
Colesman Ballz 3
HH12 2
& 1 Roy
ORy 2
Rosencrantz 2
Swanaldo 2
cannockred 1

4 Points still available for the final singer and the song title so any of the gang of nine on the leader board can still win.

Points can be awarded separately for the singer's name and the song title.

The cryptic clue for the elusive Q2 is:

2. Not Joe Biden’s dream for prayer 7,7

Additional clueage:

The song title we need is from a very well known album from 1970 and the song title is also the name of an American gothic metal group.

The lyrics of the song will lead you to the answer. The message of the song was 50 years ahead of its time with its warning of AI, robot/computer sentience and the surveillance state. Rather like the little known 1970 film Colossus: The Forbin Project which some say inspired these lyrics.

The singer's surname begins with B as Spoonz has correctly deduced but his nifty footwork took the ball out of play.

The 7,7 of the song title has a symmetry of sorts with the singer's names if you exclude weekends.

The song lyrics also include the name of a recent former City creative player and to that lot down the A38

There are several others too, Guns N Roses for example. The give away was U2 in 10th position and Frankie Valli in 12th !
Anyway off to the Old Fire House in a while for some live ska !
