A long way to go before we break any records though. The 1855 election of Nathaniel Banks as speaker took 2 months and 133 votes.

I respectfully suggest that the annointment of Sunuk as our PM was almost equally swift...and about as "democratic" in terms of votes.

First 2 years of Trump Presidency:
  • Regressive Tax Breaks
  • Failure to repeal Affordable Care Act
  • Shut down the Government
First 2 years of Biden Presidency
  • American Rescue Plan, which included, among other things, a progressive child-tax-credit policy and funds for lower health care premiums.
  • Inflation Reduction Act, which included the most ambitious investments ever in combating the climate crisis, as well as new caps on insulin costs.
  • Bipartisan Achievements - the infrastructure package, the CHIPS and Science Act, an expansion of veterans benefits in the PACT Act, the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act — the first major legislation to address gun violence in nearly three decades —the Postal Service Reform Act, the Respect for Marriage Act, the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act, and even a historic overhaul of the Electoral Count Act.
Of course right wingers don't want Government / Politics to be successful because the rich and powerful know that successful Government / Politics challenges their wealth and power.

How many miles of border wall did Trump actually build ?

Getting a bit closer now...up to vote 7. This is hilarious. It's how it should work though. Thankfully there are some Republicans who dislike RINO shoe ins.

Or there's a small band of non-republicans who pretend they're republicans because they'd not receive votes if they really nailed their colours to the right mast.

The very definition of the swamp they claim they want rid of.

Ridiculously harsh that Jeffries keeps winning yet they still don't give him the gig....Stop the steal, stop the steal!
