There is no bone of contention outside the pages of the Daily Mail and your fevered imagination. The Metropolitan Police investigated this event (below) and decided it did not constitute a breach of the rules. Durham Police investigated an event when Starmer and his co workers paused for something to eat and drink in the course of a working day and concluded similarly. End of story

Just watched a discussion on Sky News about #beergate art, they were talking about and reviewing a Kay Burley interview this morning with a rather testy Labour shadow minister.
Labour don’t like the boot being on the foot with this issue I’ve noticed.

Sorry Indo, you’re in no position to lecture me on “honest and constructive dialogue” on here, lest we forget you lied about editing post in a discussion with me previously and only when Jason as a mod confirmed it, did you reluctantly fess up.
Just to repeat my earlier point, posters can pose me questions as part of the to and fro of a discussion I’ve chosen to engage in, but don’t expect me to respond to being set questions from the get go on a link or subject matter of the other posters choosing.
That’s not me deflecting, it’s me choosing how I interact on here.
Yes, you're entirely reasonable. You either answer the question, or choose not to. And clearly the subject matter of how does Johnson deliver for his red wall voters, as asked by that left wing rag The Sun on Sunday, is not really your area of expertise, so you quietly ignored it as this interchange shows.

The paper suggests he must restore the trust of "Red Wall" voters - people in formerly safe Labour seats who switched their allegiance to the Conservatives in the 2019 general election. That can only be achieved by helping people deal with the cost-of-living crisis, and "ensuring that levelling up becomes a reality", it argues."

Spot on analysis imho. Just how does the terminally useless and lazy Johnson propose to deal with these two issues, apart from saying in loud and florid language that he's going to?
Oh gawd!
Art thinks Labour is going to win a general election again. 😖
Why do you put yourself through it?
If your asking in your roundabout way, how the hell does the most successful politician of his generation notch up yet another election victory, I would say he wins by being a way better campaigner than the terminally uninspiring Sir Magnolia, he banks on the current cost of living crisis having passed and him being able to assuage the likes of Jinxy with a tax cut or two. I could give you all the other things like potential SNP deals, the Lammy effect and the general English shift away from voting Labour in GE’s, but I’d only be repeating myself.

The mail knew exactly what it was doing. If it was merely a stock image they didn't need to cut the photo in half.

One of the many reasons to try and avoid all newspapers and newspaper websites. Simply because they're trying to brainwash you to think a certain way.

Back when I was younger, they were talking at me. Never listened to a word I said.
If the Mail had cropped the picture, people would’ve no doubt accused them of trying to make out the picture was from the event in question.

They didn't need to cropped the photo, They wanted to imply where it was taken without actually saying it, Just to get the "Outrage" out there in an election week.

They have cropped the photo, the original has Frank Dobson in it.

It tickles me that the deliverer of the curry had realised that there were 30 people present, and disclosed it to the Daily Mail not the police, the week of an election. 🤣
Whereas if it were further tory partygate revelations you wouldn't be tickled and would no doubt be further outraged.

In major political / judicial news from the other side of the pond the now conservative dominated Supreme Court seems to have decided to strike down Roe v Wade by majority decision:

To say the least this will cause an absolute shitstorm - what a way to further polarise an already deeply divided society.

Eh?
Isn’t the furore over the DM printing the original photo (and Nads retweeting the article) with FD in it?
