I get it. Flares look visually great, and add to the atmosphere. But it's 2022 and that part of football needs to be cut out and more creative ways of building an atmosphere need to come in.
Do flares look great and enhance the atmosphere though? They are usually a feeble bit if smoke and that's it. Like a dry ice machine at a disco. They do nothing worthwhile. It's just an imported thing as we've lost our own football culture.

The family put Sams home & away shirts on the seats just in front of where they were sat.

Sometimes you just have to give the keeper credit. Against almost any other keeper in league 2 that would have been a goal.
Sorry, you're wrong. Archie gave the keeper a chance he never should have had. Anywhere to left of the goal which was wide open and Collins scores. It's poor finishing. It really is that simple.

No deaths but a quick search of google suggests there have been several injuries related to flares recently. I'm with Matt Taylor on this and thinks it's fantastic to see him calling out these issues.

One day people will learn the difference between a flare used at sea and a smoke bomb that you can literally throw at people on a stag do whilst playing paintball

Further to the point - pyro is legal in Norway. Norway is some way ahead of this country if you’ve ever visited, on most levels. Pricey pint mind.

What's the point of it though? How does it enhance the atmosphere?

I disagree, you seem to think Archie’s shot was in the middle of the goal but it wasn’t, watch it again. It could have been further into the corner of course, but it was a good first time shot and an excellent save.

The difference though Max is that when people sign up to paintball they actually sign a consent form that states they will be fired at and may come into contact with smoke. I doubt asthmatics would do it unless they agreed there was no smoke.

People at the footy have no choice when a smoke bomb they weren’t expecting is let off near them.

I personally don’t have a problem with the smoke bombs, but can understand those that do.
