Josie Barlow, manager of Bradford Central Foodbank said: “We’re so blown away by the generosity of Exeter City Football Club to forgo their profits from the match against Bradford and to donate half of the profits to us! This is amazing and such a great big generous donation which will help us feed 12,000 people next year! We are so grateful and thank you on behalf of the families who have nowhere else to turn to feed their families.”

Shame Bradford City weren't as generous, instead of whinging at getting a second bite of the cherry, also no reports in Devon Dead or the Bradford Telegraph and Argus - what crap reporting

I'm impressed they can feed 12,000 people for as little as £7,393. It really is cheap oop North.

Just goes to show how good news is no news, end of the day and still nothing on either the Bradford Telegraph and Argus website or Devon dead - terrible journalism, particularly as devon dead normally just copy and paste club press releases

Our official Twitter account has x3 more followers than the Devon Live account, so we don’t need them.

Don’t know if this has already been mentioned but Nick Hawker is now Club Board and Trust Board Chairman. Mr Pym has left because he doesn’t have enough free time in the coming months to continue but is available for advice etc.
Hopefully both roles are suitable for one person and the day to day running of the company doesn’t impact on the flow of information and accessibility to the Owners ie The Trust Members particularly in light of the ongoing Covid crisis and for example the impact of this financially on the recently agreed Training Ground upgrade. Hopefully this particular financial outlay was robustly researched with all scenarios and isn’t going to lead to a fire sale.
One thing that sticks in my mind is the recent hustings event for The Trust Board. Mr Hawker doing a hasty introduction and apologising that he couldn’t stay but had to get home before he got in trouble with the wife. Hopefully that situation won’t be repeated and he can give the significant amount of time referred to by Mr Pym that is going to be necessary to be Chairman of both Boards.

This approach has been tried unsuccessfully before, it does make extraordinary demands on one person. To be fair though, at that time there was not the harmony and understanding that exists between the Boards today (at times it was more like open warfare !). I do not feel that it is the ideal solution in the longer term, but let's hope that Nick can provide us with the necessary breathing space to come up with the answer.
