I think that probably understates the problem a wee bit.

Yes, I’m not sure a small amount of electoral fraud allegations should preclude us from tightening the rules a bit more.
It might be that a not inconsiderable amount of electoral fraud is impossible to detect.

Seems to me we're putting the idea of "Stolen Election" into people's minds when there is no justification or mass fraud anywhere, Reminds me of someone else who did that 🤔🤔 For the record I think voter ID is a good idea.

There has been massive voter fraud in Tower Hamlets for years.

Ok Guvnah. It's a fair cop. Yer got me banged to rights.

Without those 10,403 photocopied ballot papers that I wheeled down to the local polling station back in 2019 "our Ben" would have lost the seat by a single vote.

Got to admit that the staff there were exemplary. Held the stolen supermarket trolley for me while I unloaded the forms and even helped me fold them and pop them into the ballot boxes.

And never even asked to see my polling card, let alone my driving licence and (borrowed) passport!

lol it's a shame you can only quote Flaubert

the mayoral and council elections in TH are riddled with fraud

its not the difficult to assume the same is happening in the GE

But why? What does anyone gain? It's one of Labours biggest heartlands and barring Galloway sneaking the win 15/20 years back it's safe to say it's not turning Conservative, or any other party anytime soon.

The council elections look fairly representative of the area and voter turn out to be honest.

And it's not as if the likes RBKC and Westminster (to name but two relatively adjacent Tory enclaves) have an exactly squeaky clean record regarding local gerrymandering.
"Shady Lady Porter" for instance
