Number 5 Nick Marker.
I think it’s the 82/83 season.Delve was released at the end of that season.
A guess would be the game against Cardiff.

Number 5 has to be Nicky Marker, or its someone with a very similar stance and bearing.

Guess the team is someone in a change strip, so normally wear red. Someone northern like Rotherham?

Probably been posted before but anyway ... a picture quiz:

I always like looking at the demographic of spectators at games from games 30-40 years ago & how much they have changed in the past 15-20 years.
That picture & one from 10 years earlier(of the SJ Rd end, which is in Red Square)show a 95% male attendance & no evidence of family groups, something that was probably mirrored all over the Football League until things started to change from 1990 on.
It would be interesting to see the demographic of a crowd at SJP in recent times.
I would suggest that the Male/Female balance is now something like 70/30 ?

Gordon Hines was the Exeter City correspondent in those days iirc.
It was a decent Sunday Paper in those days. They always had great action photos from SJP.
