How many brilliant saves and clean sheets does a goalkeeper have to acheive before being rated? Ward's a good keeper but Jonny Maxted has earnt his place.
Fortunately we have a manager that will pick players only on merit (or necessity). You must earn the right to play, as it should be.

Another great result, and they just keep coming. Eye wateringly tight at the top with Plimuff coming up on the rails. That Swindon game will be massive UTC
In one of the quirks thrown up by the fixture list I see that before our trip to Swindon, whilst we play Colchester Home and then Port Vale Away, Swindon are playing Port Vale home, and then Colchester Away !

The U's are currently in v good form, on an unbeaten run similar to ours, and an excellent away record. They've beaten a high flying Swindon 3-0 at the County Ground already this season. Some really tough games coming up quick and fast, but confidence is high, we're solid at the back, and our Nige is due back.

Nige is still suspended for Colchester match, but will be available for selection at Port Vale, assuming KMT wishes to put him straight back in of course.

Another absolutely pitch-perfect post-match interview from King Matt!!! Paying full respect to Grimsby and acknowledging that, on the day, they were the better team and was still expecting far, far more from his own players.

What a class act. (But what a booger he must be to work for. Is he EVER happy??? :D )

Did any of you there today manage to find / buy a programme? I couldn't find a programme seller anywhere and the lady in the club shop said they didn't know if they had any. Maybe they don't do programmes any more.

According to Grimsby's The New Fishy Forum, it seems that they probably didn't print enough to cater for the 6000 crowd.

Ah that would explain it then. Cheers.
