I think we have been hit harder to a degree because, last season, we actually bucked the trend of falling gates that occurred at many clubs, probably as a result of good performances, a late drive to get in the play-offs and more local derbies. This season we have none of that and, coupled with economic uncertainty and rising unemployment, we have taken a real whipping.

Don't forget too that is also almost 1,500 punters not spending money in other areas of the club (bar/food/drink/programmes, etc., etc.) The net effect is massive to a club like ours.

What do you reckon the average ticket price is less VAT? £10? If so, that's a £320k+ blackhole over a season.
But is it the average ticket sale which has been lost to us ?

Hey there is good news, the commercial gurus have come up with a great idea to flog us crap stickers to go into a crap sticker album, trouble is news of that seems to be "commercially sensitive" too.
Didn't someone say that didn't come from the commercial department?

I refer my honourable friend to the same level of figures that I have already quoted about 5 times this season.

I think you are probably right on this Pete.

I am not going to spend ages trying to find it but I am sure there was an officialish statement that the probable decline in gate money had been factored into the 2011/12 budget. Cannot recall if it stated what % fall had been factored in. I would guess not as much as the actual drop.

Rightwing I am on your side but please refrain from belittling comments to fellow supporters, this does not help our cause and slows down the change process! What is clear is the Trust members need to kick up a stink and start shaking some buckets shortly. I saw similar signs with finances over 10 years ago. Reduce the wage bill by three fringe players is the order of the day as a start!

Yes, but these are far less vindictive suggestions, you're just a bitter old man with an axe to grind..........................or so Moxey told me.

Hanging up the boots.
An alternative fund needs to be set up somehow and the monies distributed to the areas that it is needed rather than ******* down a black hole that no one can see the benefits of.

I still refuse to re-join the trust but at have money I am willing to put City's way, but I would like an idea of where it was going and what it was being used for. At the moment I am just buying merchandise, extra food and drink on matchdays for the bloody sake of it just so I feel I am contributing.

I am sure I am not the only one who would give more money if it wasnt for the way the trust was being ran.

I think it is worth remembering that the current board is not playing with their own money.

However, they are being financed, year-in year-out, by the Trust who collect subs from the membership.

If the club is to be short of money, and that seems pretty likely, the BOS should be bloody certain that they have taken care to ensure these subs have been spent wisely.

I have asked before and will ask again - how many joint club/Trust Finance meetings have taken place over the past year? If the promised schedule hasn't been maintained, Mr Cole could be in a very difficult position if the club's finances need some bolstering given the only option is another fans' whipround.

I have no fricking idea why anybody would think that spending a significant sum on a new pitch made any sense at all given the state of the economy and the predictable absence of any saleable assets.

I would suggest the 1931 fund maybe if you want to contribute to something where you know exactly where the money is going. or Start up your own fund for people to put money into that can be used for projects in and around the Park, Training ground and other projects to help the club
