Caleb Watts Joins Exeter on a Short-term Deal

Exeter City have confirmed the signing of 21-year-old Caleb Watts on a deal that keeps him here until January 2004. Caleb was available as a free agent having left Southampton at the end of the last season.

The Essex born Australian started his career at Southampton signing a professional contract in 2019 making four appearances for the then Premier league outfit. He had a very brief spell at Crawley Town where he suffered a hamstring injury on his début.

Last season he played with Morecambe on a season long loan, making 30 appearances and scoring three times and collecting five yellow cards. He played against the Grecians last November in a 1-1 draw at the Globe Arena.

He’s also played for Australia at Under-21 and Under 23 level.

Caleb will wear the number 17 shirt.

On joining the Grecians Caleb explained:-

“The project here is what attracted me. I’ve spoken to previous players here and they always said nothing but good things, it’s a place I’ve always wanted to come to.

There’s such a high standard of players here and it’s a great group. It’s pretty evident what the manager is trying to do here and it’s really exciting.

I see myself as an energetic player who always gives my all. I like to create chances, and of course I hope to score more goals than I have been.”
