Brentford’s Ryan Trevitt joins Exeter City on loan

Exeter City have confirmed that they have signed Brentford’s 20 year-old Ryan Trevitt on a season long loan. The young Bee says “I’m absolutely buzzing to be here”!

Ryan played twice for Brentford’s first team last season coming on as substitute in their League Cup tie and also in their FA Cup tie.

Otherwise Ryan Trevitt has been involved in Brentford’s B team getting 6 goals and nine assists in 27 appearances. Trevitt was originally involved with Leatherhead before signing with Brentford in 2020.

Gary Caldwell said of his recruit:-

Ryan is someone I’ve been looking at since January. He has a big future ahead of him. I spent a day last season at Brentford to watch him and speak to the staff to see how they do things, and I got to see him score and assist in the Premier League Cup.

I was really excited that night and we have worked really hard to bring him here. He is an old school midfielder who can do everything. He can control in the deeper positions but can also arrive in the box to score and assist.

His quality is one thing, but his versatility is brilliant as well.

Ryan said of his move:-

I heard about the interest last season and I came down last week. Everything Gary was saying to me really interested me.

I’m a goalscoring midfielder that likes to get on the ball, and in the final third I think I can have a big impact. I think I’ve shown that with my goal contributions last season. I have high standards that I set for myself.

The club’s emphasis on young players and their development was big for me.
