Jamal Blackman Also Signs for Burton Albion

Like buses, Burton signing players who played for Exeter City last season, then three arrive at once.

Goalkeeper Jamal Blackman, aged 29 years old, has signed for Burton Albion, although length of contract has not been confirmed. The story had accidentally been leaked by BBC Derby Sport who had to quickly delete their tweet with a picture of Jamal Blackman in it.

Blackman played 42 times for the Grecians last season, keeping nine clean sheets, plus three yellow cards mainly for time-wasting. During his time with Exeter he was involved, along with some other Exeter players, in an altercation late one night in the Guildhall with a video showing him punch another man.

Jamal said of his move

I’m really pleased to be here. I’m looking forward to the season, bringing my experiences here and seeing what I can do. Knowing the club and playing against Burton a few times, it’s a team I know who are looking to play well and implement their game.

It’s one of those places where we can do well in the league and with the gaffer and the players he’s bringing in, we can do well.
