Alan Gow in Team of the Season

Exeter City’s now departed attacking midfielder, Alan Gow, appears in Chris Sumpter’s team of the season as a striker in the Scunthorpe Telegraph. Having seen most of newly promoted Scunthorpe United’s football games this season, both home and away, the Sports Editor’s thoughts on the players gow_keohanehe’s seen has to be respected. Sumpter’s article looks at the League 2 strike force.

This is what he has to say on Alan Gow:-

Wikipedia lists skilful Scot Alan Gow as a ‘forward midfielder.’ His best position appears to be somewhere in between the two.

An experienced campaigner, whose career has spanned the length of the United Kingdom (he played for Aidrie and Plymouth) the 31 year old was the instigator to Exeter’s 4-0 win at Glanford Park.

He set up two goals and his ability to drift into pockets, in which he was rarely picked up, ensured the Grecians enjoyed plenty of possession in the final third.

The other front players of note were as follows:-

Reuben Reid – Plymouth Argyle

then on the bench:

Nick Pope – York City
Pablo Mills – Bury
Shaquille Coulthurst – Torquay United
Kevan Hurst – Southend United
Abu Ogogo – Dagenham & Redbridge
Andrew Tutte – Bury
Billy Key – Burton Albion
