And schoolboys.

City’s starting XI:
1st year pros - King playing his first game since August and lasted 30 minutes. Borges - subbed after an hour with the score at 1-1.
2nd year scholars - Dean. The other 6 second year scholars out on loan or injured.
1st year scholars - Shanahan, Marroni, Cutler, Richards, Cooper.
under 16’s - Cartwright, Graham.
under 15’s - Cayless
Subs:
1st Year scholars - Ohanaka, Wilson, Oakes.
under 16’s - Bown
under 15’s - Alsop

Argyle started the match with at least 4 second year scholars and finished the match with at least 5. They have a core squad of 17 players and make very few changes from game to game. Contrary to jase 07's post they haven't used any first year pros.
As I already pointed out for the last half hour of the match (which City "won" 1-0) the average age of Argyle’s team was 12 to 18 months older than City’s
I didn’t say Argyle were playing any first year pro’s yesterday, I have seen them play lots over the years and they usually have several third years scholars / first year pro’s playing, it’s not that unusual, most teams always have one or two overage players playing for a variety of reasons.

Match report

On the staff side, Chris McPhee again doing the quotes and now being described as 'U18s assistant coach' (McPhee record P2 W2?)
But the report says that the players and Nicky Ajose were pleased to see half time arrive.

On the playing front McPhee expresses pleasure re Harrison King playing, without any mention of injury causing his withdrawal after 30 minutes - which suggests it was always the plan for him only to play 30 minutes.

Current South West Counties Youth League table. I can’t remember if it’s the top 4 or top 5 who go into Merit League One , but three straight wins have given City a chance of making it.

Nice to know our youth team is capable of putting together such a good result and beating Plymouth is important for so many reasons. So, is it true that this Tom Donati chap was in cohorts with our bitter rivals? If so he deserves all the bad karma in the world.
What's the truth?

Not heard anything of that ilk Sturtz, only that Donati's use of industrial language around the players wasn't in keeping with the ethos of the club

From the report.
"Recent games have re-established the groups identity, and the players are becoming empowered."

Brad Miller's parting words two months ago
"please continue to put the players' interests at the heart of your thinking”

I could be reading too much into it but maybe there was some repair work to be done - if so it's going well.
